The Process

We start with the big idea: What is the most valuable resource you possess?

It’s not your money, it’s not your intelligence, it’s not your looks. It’s not even time, which you might think is your most precious and limited resource.

It’s your energy.

  • Your energy determines the quality and value of your time.

  • Your energy influences your mood and state of mind.

  • Your energy impacts the health of your relationships.

  • Your energy is a force multiplier on how effective you are at working towards your goals and having the impact on the world that you aspire to.

  • Your energy is the key to unlocking your full aliveness.

And the good news is that you can learn to harness, grow, restore, and consciously direct your energy to where it is most of service.

The invitation is for you to live a more purpose filled life in which you are living in energetic alignment with the pursuit of your north star, in integrity with your personal values and principles, and Intentionally directing your energy and life force towards what you most want to create.

We begin by getting clear on your North Star, which is comprised of your purpose, mission, and vision for your life:

  • Your purpose is why you are here on earth. It’s not a goal or an objective. It’s getting clear on the values and virtues you hold dear and embodying them in the world. What you value will determine what you focus your energy on. Creating more of what you value will bring your energy up and fuel your passion. Purpose is about getting intentional in how you’re being with yourself and others.

  • Your mission is what you came here on earth to do. It’s your objective in life. What unique traits, skills, and essence qualities do you possess? What is your zone of genius? How do these translate into the role(s) you want to play in your personal and professional lives? Your mission drives clarity in what you’re doing in the world.

  • Your vision is the most exquisite manifestation of what you want to see and have at the end of your life. Your legacy. The people you’ve impacted. The institutions you’ve built. The world that you’ve changed for the better. What is your most salient and mouth watering vision for how you could make the world an exquisite place that you are thankful to have impacted and contributed to as you take your last breath? Your vision is what you want to be having at the end of your life.

Then we establish cadences and routines across multiple time horizons to connect your purpose/mission/vision with intentionality around how you renew, grow, and direct your energy:

  • Goals. Deconstructing your vision into goals across multiple time horizons (e.g. 10 year, 5 year, 1 year).

  • Yearly routines. Bill Gates famously takes a ‘think week’ where he spends a week in solitude reading, reflecting, and writing. John Mackey (Whole Foods founder) goes backpacking on the Appalachian trail and disconnects from the world. Perhaps you want to establish a meditation retreat. Or an annual vacation with each of your children 1:1.

  • Quarterly check ins. Are your goals still the right ones? Do you need to make any shifts or changes in your life and how you’re living it to get back on track?

  • Weekly reviews. Looking at the prior week and the one ahead to ensure you are staying on course with your goals. How did your energy levels rise and fall as you went about your various activities? Did you spend your time how you intended to? How will you re-direct your time in the week ahead? Checking in with your partner to reflect on what you each want to stop, start, and continue.

  • Daily habits and routines. How do you begin and end each day with intentionality and grounding yourself? We’ll find the recipe that works for you from a menu of practices around meditation, journaling, breath work, time in nature, and more. Morning and evening routines provide anchoring to help you own your day, maximize your productivity, and elevate your energy levels.

  • ‘In the moment’ practices. How can you become less triggered by and reactive to people, circumstances, and conditions? How can you identify when you are in fear/threat, accept yourself for being just where you are, and see if you’d be willing to shift yourself back into trust/love/presence?

Finally, we deconstruct the pillars of living in energetic full aliveness:

  • Physical health. Sleep, nutrition, exercise.

  • Psychological health. Meditation, journaling, reflection, visualization, and looking at influences, environments, and catalysts.

  • Emotional health. Becoming more aware of, allowing, processing, and releasing emotions.

  • Personal and professional relationships. Shifting out of drama into co-creating conscious loving relationships.

  • Awareness of death. It might sound morbid, but the Stoics were onto something. Being mindful of the shortness of life and the unpredictability of how much time we have left drives sobriety and clairvoyance, cutting through the noise of distractions and ensuring you are treasuring and making the most of each moment and day.

In a nutshell, Rhythm of Being is about getting clear on your north star, designing and building the scaffolding of your life that most supports you in getting there, and making sure you live moment to moment in energetic harmony with what you most value and are here to do.
