About JM
COACH | Break free of limiting stories and beliefs. I ask questions that allow you to get unstuck and encourage you to think about problems in new ways. I challenge you to become the most aspirational version of yourself.
MENTOR | I have been in the trenches. I can relate and empathize and have seen and/or experienced many of the same trials, tribulations, and challenges you are currently facing.
CONSULTANT | I guide and partner with teams inside companies and start-ups as a product consultant, to help them set and refine goals, sharpen their strategy, and determine a clear roadmap.
TEACHER | I utilize and share the useful skills, frameworks, and methodologies that I’ve acquired over the years in product management and coaching/self-development to help you embrace and lean into emotions and thoughts in new ways.
Are you ready to step into your power and clarify your WHY?
Ask yourself: Why are you here? Why are you in this job, relationship, or situation? How are you spending your time and energy?
In 2015, I found myself overwhelmed, burnt out, and working in a toxic culture full of blame, criticism, and fear at Uber. I found the Conscious Leadership Group around this same time, which is what led me to pursue an interest in coaching. I had checked a lot of boxes in my career but found myself seeking out ways to help people and teams understand the root causes of their suffering and the subsequent drama that followed. I studied Computer Science and Computer Engineering at Northwestern University and spent the first arc of my career in high-frequency trading at one of the pioneering firms, GETCO. After nine years, I shifted my efforts to product management at Groupon to help transition them from ‘daily deal’ to NASDAQ for local commerce and went on to join Uber in 2014 as the first Product Manager for Marketplace. I built out a variety of foundational product teams at Marketplace and eventually moved over to Uber Eats to run Delivery Marketplace. Most recently, after a year at DoorDash running product for Merchant Platform, I joined Waymo in 2022 as product lead for commercialization. In early 2024, I returned to Uber and now lead product for Mobility Marketplaces & Verticals.
After a year-long training coaching certification in the 15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership, I was able to clearly see how each of us can get in our own way with the need to be right, a tendency to fall into fear-based reactivity, and a propensity to create unnecessary drama and suffering in our professional and personal lives. In 2020 Rhythm of Being was born—a coaching methodology centered around rituals, rhythms, and habits—developed as a result of my collective product management experience, training, and mentoring/coaching influences over the years. I believe that it’s never too late to shift—in every disappointment, downfall, or setback, there is always the possibility of radical learning and regrowth. It’s time to assess your rhythms of DOING, BEING, and HAVING to maximize your personal wellbeing and move into the next stage of your unfolding.
Show up to your life and work with full aliveness.
“Rhythm of Being was transformative for me. Before RoB, I felt stuck…I was burnt out and lacked the satisfaction I thought accompanied professional and personal success. RoB gave me a framework for understanding myself and helped me define my purpose and values. In a matter of sessions, JM helped me recognize my biases and develop strategies and routines for managing them…Months after my last RoB session, I became a new parent…the mindfulness practices we cultivated and the introspection we embraced helped me navigate some of the most difficult emotional terrains of my life.”
–Rachel Maddux, PM Lead for Dynamic Pricing | Uber
“I worked closely with JM for over five years at Uber and DoorDash and went through many iterations of the Rhythm of Being program during that time. It was a truly transformative experience for which I’m incredibly grateful…The RoB process allowed me to focus my time and energy on where I can find the right flow state, bringing out my personal success and that of those around me—which has not only helped me grow as a manager but also operate life as a better human being.”
–Miraj Rahematpura, GROUP Product Manager | DoorDash
“Over the last three months, I transitioned from an IC Product Manager to a Director role, and JM was instrumental in supporting me in this transition. We discussed big-picture items, such as my five-to-ten-year product vision, different approaches to coaching my team and setting up performance reviews. JMN was an invaluable resource and I highly recommend him to anyone in the product world looking for professional coaching.”
